The Danish trade on Chinese websites has increased at an explosive rate during the last three months. The amount of packages sent from China has increased by 40%, according to a statement from the Danish national postal service, Post Danmark.
Jesper Bremholm, CEO of Post Danmark, points out the low dollar rate as one of the main reasons of the increased trade.
"The Chinese websites have a big variety of goods and you can purchase these goods with the low dollar through different payment services. That's what the Danes have now discovered", says Jesper Bremholm.
It is especially clothes, bags, and shoes that are sent from China to Denmark and in such large quantities that the number of packages sent from China now exceeds the number of packages from Britain.
"The United States is still the preferred country when it comes to trade online, but China is actually the country that ships the second most packages to Denmark" Jesper Bremholm explains.
Jesper Bremholm reminds the Danish consumers that you have to be aware of the additional VAT and taxes that apply when buying goods online in countries that are located outside the European Union.
