Speculations on who might buy Swedish automobile brand Volvo's car division have run high ever since current owner Ford last month announced that it was looking into possible buyers. And now it seems that a breakthrough may be in the works, as Swedish newspaper Goeteborg-Posten has revealed that a very interested delegation from the Chinese Geely group has paid a visit to Volvo's headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Volvo's management has refused to comment on the story.
Ford bought Volvo's troubled car division in 1999 for 50 billion DKK, but the price has since been written down as Volvo's sales have had problems for some time now.
